How many members think that Canada should incorporate a Home Radon Alarm on all Radon Mitigation Systems which incorporates a fan in the building envelope?

I believe that all mitigators would be significantly lowering any liability that they incur in selling a mitigation system by installing a home radon alarm or digital radon detector as part of their mitigation. At the bare minimum they should be requiring the homeowner to commit to acquiring one in their contract.

I believe a radon alarm is a necessity in all homes, that have been mitigated. The Radon hasnt gone away, it have been rerouted. For various reasons, this can be interupted - ie contractor comes into home and "borrows circuit" and neglects to reactivate system.

The Alarm is that second line of defense, for the homeowner - all homes have smoke detectors !

I have been contractually requiring them,  for all homes mitigated since 2009.

I agree that Home Radon Alarms are a good way to help a homeowner ensure that their mitigation system is still doing what it is supposed to do.  I believe that homeowners will pay a lot more attention to a beeping radon alarm than a U-Tube manometer.
